SOAP REFINING
Soap refining is an essential process in industrial soap manufacturing, improving the homogeneity, texture and quality of soap during the finishing process. The number of soap refining stages determines the refining efficiency and the final characteristics of the finished soap.
Soap Refining and Homogenising
The effectiveness of soap refining is directly related to the number of refining stages installed in the soap finishing line. Different finishing line configurations can provide different numbers of refining stages:
- 1 Simplex Plodder + 1 Duplex Vacuum Plodder → 2 refining stages
- 1 Roll Mill + 1 Duplex Vacuum Plodder → 2.5 refining stages
- 1 Duplex Refiner Plodder + 1 Duplex Vacuum Plodder → 3 refining stages
- 1 Simplex Plodder + 1 Roll Mill + 1 Duplex Vacuum Plodder → 3.5 refining stages
- 1 Special Duplex Vacuum Plodder → 4 refining stages
The choice of the soap refining configuration therefore depends on the number of refining stages required in the soap finishing line.
Soap Pre-Refining
The use of dry soap noodles, particularly when the noodles contain a high quantity of dry specks, may require a pre-refining stage before the soap mixer. This operation can be carried out by installing a Simplex Refiner Plodder or a Roll Mill before the mixer. The pre-refining process breaks the external dry part of the soap noodles, allowing the soap to better absorb the soap additives during the subsequent mixing process.
Soap Pelletizer
As an alternative to installing a Simplex Refiner Plodder or a Roll Mill, a soap pelletizer can be used to reduce the investment cost. A pelletizer is similar to a Simplex Refiner Plodder, but it is equipped with a shorter screw and a smaller motor. Unlike a Simplex Refiner Plodder, the soap pelletizer does not have a refining screen.
